Graduated from the University of Marburg, Germany in 1988 and certified as a leading doctor for Emergency medicine in 1994 he became a Specialist in Internal Medicine in 1996. Since 1990 he had a major focus on diagnostic Endoscopies and Ultrasound and in 1997 he graduated as a specialist for Gastroenterology. From 2001- 2006 he was senior consultant and Head of the Endoscopy and Ultrasound department in a University Teaching Hospital in Hamburg. In 2006 he ran a joint private practice with a Pneumologist in Hamburg. In 2008 he also finished his specialization also in HEPATOLOGY.
